Root Canal Therapy

What Is A Root Canal?

Root canal treatment is the process of removing the infected, injured, or dead pulp from a tooth.

Root canals and their associated pulp chamber are the physical hollows within a tooth that are naturally inhabited by nerve tissue, blood vessels and other cellular entities. Together, these items constitute the dental pulp.

Signs You Need A Root Canal

What Can I Expect During My Appointment?

Checkup & X-Ray

Each root canal therapy treatment appointment begins with an examination of the infected area. You can expect to have both a checkup as well as an X-ray to determine the full extent of the infection. We want to make sure we see the full picture before getting your pearly whites back into tip-top shape!

Local Anesthetic

To prep for the procedure and make you more comfortable we provide a local anesthetic, numbing the area.

Root Canal Treatment

The treatment we provide is to open the infected area, remove the damaged nerve and pulp tissue. Once the area has been cleaned, a filling and crown will be applied to the tooth to seal the area and restore the tooth to its full working condition.

Follow-Up

After some time to allow the newly functioning tooth to heal, we will welcome you back for a follow-up appointment. We want to make sure the root canal therapy has been successful and you’re no longer experiencing any pain.
